West Coast Regional Manager
DIVISION: Corporate and Design
DEPARTMENT: Retail
LOCATION: Irvine, CA
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 5+ years

POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT

The Regional Manager provides leadership, direction, guidance and support to the store teams within the designated geographical area. Responsibilities include; overseeing, motivating, and encouraging store managers to achieve sales and profit plans in the district’s stores, accountable for the district’s financial results, merchandising of locations, compliance with all Company initiatives related to stores, the recruiting, staffing, and development of all store managers, creating a succession strategy and executing the strategy, maintain effective and professional channels of communication with all corporate partners and store teams.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Leadership Effectiveness:

  • Demonstrates high degree of professionalism in communication, attitude and teamwork with customers, peers, and management team
  • Demonstrates proper etiquette when communicating with internal and external clients (i.e. in-person, phone, e-mail, and written communication)
  • Communicates effectively and with a global perspective; develops and maintains professional relationships
  • Provides and ensures that a high standard of service is consistently delivered to all internal and external clients
  • Develops and executes market strategies and consistency of the St. John brand, image and standards throughout the region
  • Works with the  EVP of Retail and Finance Department for the development and execution of business plan and  annual sales budget for each store
  • Is able to oversee management of multiple store locations
  • Partners with Director of Human Resources regarding personnel: recruiting, hiring, training, succession planning, employee relations, staffing requirements, work environment, etc.
  • Has a global strategic and tactical perspective in setting and achieving the expectations
  • Establish, train, motivate and maintain a consistent focus on delivering The St. John Experience within the store environment for clients and associates

 

Operations:

  • Ensures that each store merchandises and maintains the appearance of the store in accordance to St John standards
  • Ensures that each Store Manager maintains interior and exterior of the building
  • Ensures that each Store Manager maintains efficient and accurate backroom operations to include stockroom organization and shipping/receiving
  • Supports/ reinforces company policies, procedures and systems
  • Maintains Loss Prevention and Inventory Control standards
  • Adheres to total district planned budget through expense control and analysis
  • Understands and uses all reports and reporting procedures including Profit and Loss statements
  • Coaches, develop, and motivate the Store Managers in decision making and successful execution of their roles
  • Completes and administers performance management and developmental reviews of direct reports
  • Resolves performance problems in a timely manner and with a sense of urgency
  • Consistently recruits, trains and retains a highly professional and productive staff
  • Monitors and maintains compliance to all Company Policies & Procedures
  • Adhere to local, state and federal laws

Business Development:

  • Understands and implements initiatives in alignment with the company’s business strategies and direction
  • Ensure the achievement of  store and district sales plans, productivity and profit goals
  • Understands individual store goals and works with each Store Manager to develop a strategic plan to achieve those goals
  • Is knowledgeable of the marketplace and takes action based on these goals/strategies to drive business results
  • Works to effectively develop community relations throughout the district and  coordinates effective local marketing events

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adheres to local, state and federal laws
  • Additional responsibilities assigned by supervisor related to your position/department
  • 80% travel may be required as necessary
  • Ability to be flexible and willing to work extended hours when necessary

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directly manages Regional Boutique Staff
  • Provides coaching, direction, develops and empowers direct reports.
  • Ensures work flow and processes are to maximum efficiencies for business necessity the District Stores staff

Education/Experience:

  • 5-10 years experience in multi-store management within a company store organization
  • General Human Resources experience: staffing, coaching, counseling, training and development
  • 4-year college degree or equivalent
  • Retail operations knowledge including: sales, customer service, merchandising, inventory control, store Profit and Loss statements and inventory control
  • Good computer skills: Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook and POS systems
